Description: A granite spire is emplaced in the cemetery. Inscriptions are on all four sides. They read: “Erected By ~ Severance W.R.C. ~ No 75 ~ May 30, 1898”,
“In Memory Of ~ The Unknown Dead”
“They Sleep Neath ~ The Cypress And ~ The Pine”,
“In Nameless Graves ~ They Rest Unknown”,
“No Bugles Call ~ Nor Trumpets Sound ~ Disturbs Their ~ Calm Repose”.

Belmont Cemetery (north of town on Tiogard Rd.) – Map
Type: Bronze Soldier Statue
Description: A soldier, at parade rest, is mounted on a granite base. The base is inscribed:
“(GAR badge) ~ Erected By ~ Nathan ~ Price Post ~ No 283 ~ Dept Kan G.A.R. ~ In Memory ~ Of Our Nations ~ Defenders ~ 1861 – 1865”.
In front of the statue is a bronze plaque reading:
“This Statue Was Restored ~ And Rededicated In 1990. To ~ All Veterans Who Struggled ~ Throughout The World, In All ~ Wars To Preserve Those ~ Liberties We Hold So Dearly ~ Restoration By The ~ American Legion Post 101”.
